Rock Garden

Rock garden is one of the focal points of travel and tourism in Chandigarh. What most amazing about this garden is this is basically an accidental artwork once done by a transport official, named Nek Chand. While he was on his work of cleaning up a garden area, the artiste self of him incited him to build a series of effigies. When it got noticed by the local government that Nek Chand had already built a constellation of beautiful artwork in a forbidden area, they did not walk the way of punishing him. Instead, he was encouraged to continue his work. The place is a chief point of interest to the tourists flowing in Chandigarh.

Sukhna Lake

Sukhna Lake is an artificial lagoon. The lake takes pride in being the longest waterway in Asia for rowing and ferrying. The place is a popular place to spend time with friends and relatives. A sidewalk, paddleboats, cafeteria have added to the popularity of the Sukhna Lake and have made it a focus of travel and tourism in Chandigarh.

Pinjore Gardens

Pinjore Gardens, which is popularly termed as Yadavindra gardens, is just 20 kilometers away from Chandigarh. Taxis and buses are available aplenty to reach this place of tourist interest in Chandigarh. Located on the butte of Shibalik range, the garden is built in Mughal style. It is one of the major picnic spots in the city. This was built in Mughal era.


The museum is located in Sec 10. The place houses several artifacts of Mughal and medieval era. Remnants, paintings and coins of different era are displayed here.

Rose Garden

Chandigarh is the biggest rose garden in Asia. Several rose festivals throughout the year are organized here. The place is a major tourist attraction in Chandigarh.
